Change the permission

Sunday, September 16, 2007

When I want to change the permission in ftp I somehow cannot change it, and then I realize when I using the Joomla CMS, I can't change certain files in Joomla folder.

Solution:
1- make sure the file I want to change not involving installation part in Joomla.
2- If I want to change template I have to uninstall and install again.
3- If I want to change component I have to uninstall and install again.
4- If I want to change modules I have to uninstall and install again.
5- If I want to change Mambot I have to uninstall and install again.
6- If I want to change something that involving installation I have to uninstall and install again.

The idea.....

Thursday, September 13, 2007

I always think to make new post everyday but I always lack of ideas.

For Joomla I have learn about 4 years maybe more, but the knowledge that I get I always apply to my assignment at that time, for not able to write in this blog makes me frustrated.
What I like in this joomla is many component, module and mambot can be install when I want to use it but not all that I can use, because when I get component, I don't get the modules and vice versa.

Mambot only for search or if the developer want to use mambot they will make the mambot to support both the component and modues.

In my experience, most people can make their own website using this Jommla without have to pay high price but many people don't have the knowledge of Joomla, or making the websites. people can only spent for domain and hosting that very cheap for most common people.

In here, I will make one subdomain, that people can familiarize the Administrator interface, for me familiarize is important as learning anything that I like.

good luck.

Where Joomla from?

Joomla is from Mambo and Mambo From PHP / php nuke.

PHPNuke
Is CMS (Content management system) but not really reliable for content coz I still need to know PHP coding and hard to put addon.

Mambo
Is CMS that upgrading from PHPNuke but still not good on security but for content is user friendly.

Joomla
Is CMS that upgrading from Mambo and both good at security and content addon. I can Isnstall the component, module and mambot for not knowing the coding.

Frontend and Backend

Thursday, September 6, 2007

Joomla Feature:

Frontend:
1- Can be access by user if they have the permission to make changes on the websites.
2- Can be added content only if the Admin only sets for add content and can be delete or edit if the Admin sets for user to delete or edit.
3- For faster content input because user not bother to set certain structure in the websites.

Backend:
1- For Admin only to make the structure for the websites.
